A Multistage Mechanism for Managing Aggressive Flows in the next Generation Internet
نویسنده
چکیده
In this note, we provide a multistage game form which may be used for managing aggressive ‡ows which may cause network congestion or monopolisation. The mechanism here presented attains economic e¢ciency, technical e¢ciency and other desirable properties.

Service Differentiated Call Admission Control in next Generation Wireless Networks
In wireless network, real time flows are prioritized over non-real time flows. Because of this prioritization, non-real time flows endures starvation. Furthermore, real time flows are handled quite generally as no specification is given to emergency flows. To consider all these difficulties, we propose a service differentiated call admission control mechanism for next generation wireless networ...
متن کاملPerformance Evaluation of a Memory-Based TCP-friendly Rate Adaptation Algorithm for a Real-time Radar Application
1 This research was supported in part by DARPA Next Generation Internet (NGI) and NSF Information Technology Research (ITR) Grant no. 0121546. Abstract Implementing a TCP-friendly congestion control mechanism is imperative for emerging UDP-based realtime, high-bandwidth applications such as multimedia. VCHILL project for digitized radar data transfer over the Internet is one such application fo...
متن کاملAnalysis and Modeling of VoIP Servers: A Linear Programming Approach
The SIP protocol was standardized by the IETF at the application layer for initiating, managing, and terminating multimedia sessions and has been widely used as the main signaling protocol on both the Internet and VoIP networks. Most challenges in this protocol are overload and lack of proper state distribution. These challenges cause a wide range of next-generation network users to face a shar...
متن کاملDownstream Bandwidth Management for Emerging DOCSIS-based Networks
In this dissertation, we consider the downstream bandwidth management in the context of emerging DOCSIS-based cable networks. The latest DOCSIS 3.1 standard for cable access networks represents a significant change to cable networks. For downstream, the current 6 MHz channel size is replaced by a much larger 192 MHz channel which potentially can provide data rates up to 10 Gbps. Further, the cu...
متن کاملAn analytical model for the performance evaluation of multistage interconnection networks with two class priorities
The aim of this paper is to develop an analytical method for performance evaluation of double prioritized Multistage Interconnected Networks (MINs) with single or multilayers and backpressure operation which provide service differentiation and QoS guarantee to an end application running over next generation Internet or Grid systems. Specifically, a new architecture of switching elements is used...
